MICA provides support and education to families and caregivers of individuals living with mental illness by: Back

·        Organizing facilitated peer support group meetings* and educational workshops 

·        Assisting caregivers with navigating the mental health system and finding mental health services

 

·        Actively recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to assist in the functioning of the organization and to become valued members of the mental health community

 

·        Establishing collaborative partnerships with health care organizations to provide education and public awareness to the community

* The Family Support/Learning Group meetings are held every fourth Monday of the month in Room 1424 at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, 1145 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
