NO ONE WALKS ALONE, WE WALK WITH YOU
Sometimes it’s necessary to let things go! It is with mixed emotions that we inform you that, because of limited resources, 2025 will be the last year for Art in the Park, the Mental Illness Caregivers’ Association’s (MICA) annual art show and sale.
But having made the decision not to hold Art in the Park in its traditional format at Strathcona Park, we thought one last “fling” in a manageable format, given our limited resources, would be wonderful and so we are planning to host a Virtual/Online Art in The Park, just as we did during the COVID pandemic. We see this as an opportunity to celebrate your steadfast support of MICA over many years and to thank you sincerely for your lasting contribution to the projects we led over the years. We hope you will participate in this virtual Art in The Park format. Further details will follow shortly.
Your understanding of and support for this difficult choice we’ve made will enable us to focus our limited resources on a current and pressing project which helps caregivers of those with a mental illness to make safety and security plans for their loved ones, once caregivers are gone. You will appreciate that this is an issue which is becoming more critical as the caregiver community ages.
Finally, we want to thank you for the extraordinary way in which you have supported us over the years – your participation has helped us to move the needle on a number of improvements in caring for those living with a mental illness. We thank you sincerely for your enduring contribution to the wellbeing of those living with a mental illness as well as to the wellbeing of their caregivers.
Stay tuned for more details about Virtual/Online Art in The Park 2025. We are looking forward to your participation.
With gratitude,
